“But God commendeth his love toward us, in that, while we were yet sinners, Christ died for us” – Romans 5:8
I grew up in the church, accepted God’s amazing gift and was saved at 12 years old. I spent the next 38 years drifting far away from God. Until 2020, living in Washington state, I lost my job of 15 years and was offered a new position… in Texas. Moving meant saying goodbye to our family and the life we loved. We were very comfortable there. I started praying for guidance. I remember talking on the phone with a friend, telling her we were staying in Washington. The instant I hung up the phone, I got a phone call from my former boss. She told me I really needed to take that position in Texas. She offered to put a new roof on our house, finance the move and even loaned us the cash to buy our new home outright because the market at the time was quite competitive and we needed to have somewhere to land in Texas while our other home sold.
God sometimes pushes us out of our comfort zone. We took a leap of faith and followed God’s direction, leaving the life we loved. It was so hard. But the life He has blessed us with here in Texas has led us to our current church and an amazing church family. It has renewed my faith and brought me closer to God than ever.
I hope by reading the posts on this page, it brings you closer to Him as well and the amazing gift of salvation He has for you.
